The purpose of this blog is to share with you the picture books that I have enjoyed reading with my grandchildren: Sloane, David, and Rose.
The choice of picture books is not particularly scientific . Some titles I will choose. Some titles they will chose.
But, if you are looking to do read alouds with your own children, or grandchildren, the posts on this blog suggest picture books that have worked well.
I also should note an advantage with my reading picture books aloud. I read them to my own children, but for over 33 years, I used picture books with students of ALL ages. As an educator, I took very seriously the wisdom of the American astronomer and planetary scientist, Carl Sagan:
“One of the greatest gifts adults can give—to their offspring and to their society—is to read to children.”
